Using Our Service: Buying from Japan

(Terms & Conditions)

Welcome!

Thank you for choosing our service ("Buy From Japan, by jajapan service") to help you purchase items from Japan. These terms explain how our service works and what to expect. Reading and agreeing to these terms helps us provide a smooth and efficient service for everyone.

  • Agreement: By using our service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please refrain from using our service.

  • Changes: Please note that we may update these rules occasionally. The terms in effect when you place your order will apply.

1. Placing Your Order

  1. Provide Links: We purchase items based only on the specific web links (URLs) you provide.

  2. One Budget/Bid Per Item: Please set your maximum budget (or auction bid) carefully. Once submitted, especially for auctions, this budget cannot be changed.

  3. Change Fee: If you need to request a change to your order after it has been placed (like changing your budget), we will charge a 2,000 yen handling fee if the change is still possible. We cannot guarantee changes can be made.

  4. Purchase Timing: We cannot guarantee purchases at a specific time (e.g., "buy immediately" requests). We aim to process orders within 24 hours.

  5. Auction Orders: For auctions, please place your order with us at least 24 hours before the auction is scheduled to end to give us time to process your bid.

  6. Ask Questions Before Ordering: If you have questions about an item (condition, details, etc.), you must ask us before you place your order so we can try to ask the seller. We cannot contact the seller with questions after your order is submitted.

  7. Untracked Shipping: We generally cannot purchase items where the seller only offers untracked domestic shipping within Japan (methods like 普通郵便, 定形, or 定形外). If you choose to proceed anyway, you accept all risk of the package being lost or swapped before it reaches us.

  8. No Returns/Cancellations: All orders are final once submitted. We have a strict no-return policy as we are buying on your behalf. Please double-check your order details before confirming.

2. How We Handle Your Items

  • Storage: We will hold your purchased items at our facility for up to 30 days free of charge. This period might be shorter if we experience severe space limitations.

  • Repacking: To prepare for international shipping, we will unpack and repack your items. We do this to consolidate items efficiently and ensure they are packed suitably for transit.

  • Original Packaging: We cannot guarantee the condition of the item's original box (e.g., figure boxes, shoe boxes). If you require perfect original packaging, please do not use our service for that item. Ordering implies you accept potential damage to original boxes.

  • Item Inspection (Basic Check Only):

    • We perform a very basic check: Is it generally the item ordered (e.g., a phone, not a rock)? Is it the correct color (if applicable)?

    • We do not perform detailed condition checks, count parts/accessories, test functions, or verify authenticity.

    • Inspection may be skipped entirely for: Sealed items (like new DVDs), items with many small pieces (like trading card lots), vacuum-packed items, or rolled items (like posters).

  • No Photos on Request: We do not take photos of your items upon request. Any photos taken are for our internal use only.​

3. Shipping Your Items Internationally

  • Consolidation: If you order multiple items, we typically wait for everything to arrive before preparing one consolidated shipment.

  • Status Updates: We cannot provide ongoing updates like "Which items have arrived?" or "Which item is in which tracking package?". We will notify you when your package is ready to ship.

  • Tracking Number: You will receive the shipping tracking number after your package has been dispatched.

  • Cost Adjustment: The final, exact shipping cost is determined after your package is packed and weighed by the shipping company. Your initial payment includes an estimate; we will adjust the final cost based on the actual shipping charge.

  • Multiple Boxes Fee: If all your items do not fit into a single standard box (approx. 50cm x 30cm x 30cm), we will charge an additional 1,100 yen handling fee for each box required.

  • Dividing Shipments: If you request to split your items into multiple shipments, tell us how many boxes you want. We cannot follow instructions like "put these specific items in box 1" or requests for specific box dimensions.

  • Weight/Size Measurement: We do not measure or weigh boxes before shipping. The shipping company provides the official measurements.

  • Shipping Methods: We ship using methods that provide tracking and require customs forms. Our available options are generally:

  • Shipping Address: We ship only to real names and verifiable physical addresses (home addresses, or hotels in Japan). We cannot ship to PO Boxes or mail forwarding centers using generic names. Please discuss any special address situations with us before ordering.

  • Customs Declaration: We declare the value of package contents according to our standard procedures for international shipping. We cannot accept requests for specific declaration values or marking items as "gifts."

  • Customs Responsibility: You, the buyer, are fully responsible for:

    • Understanding and complying with your country's import laws, taxes, and duties.

    • Checking if the items you order are allowed into your country via your chosen shipping method.

    • Resolving any issues with your local customs office. We do not provide assistance or documentation for customs clearance.

  • Shipping Risks & Liability:

    • You are responsible for ensuring your items are legal to import.

    • We are not responsible for packages lost, damaged, delayed, stuck in customs, or returned to sender during transit.

    • If a package is returned to us by customs or postal services, the items may be disposed of. No refunds will be issued in such cases.

  • Our Address: Do not use our address for any deliveries without arranging it through our service first. Unauthorized packages sent to our address will be discarded.

4. Buying from Flea Market Sites (Mercari, Fril, PayPay Flea Market, etc.)

Requirements for Requesting a Discount Negotiation:

To proceed with a discount negotiation on your behalf, please ensure the following 3 conditions and information are met:

   1. Minimum Item Price:

  • The item you are interested in must have a listed price of at least 10,000 yen. We only attempt to negotiate discounts for items at or above this price.

 

   2. Maximum Discount Limit:

  • We can attempt to negotiate a discount of up to 10% off the item's listed price. Please understand that successfully obtaining any discount is not guaranteed, as the seller has the final decision and may refuse any offer. For example, for an item listed at 15,000 yen, the maximum discount we would aim for would bring the price to 13,500 yen.

 

   3. Required Pricing Information from You:

    Before we start to negotiate, you must provide us with two price values:

  • Ask For Price: This is the initial, ideal price you would like us to offer to the seller.

  • Buy Below Price: This is the absolute maximum price you authorize us to agree to if the seller does not accept your "Ask For Price."

  • For example: If an item is listed at 10,000 yen, your instruction might be: "Ask for 9,000 yen, buy below 9,500 yen." In this scenario, we would first offer 9,000 yen. If the seller rejects this, we are authorized to accept any price up to 9,500 yen. If the seller's final price is above your "Buy Below Price" of 9,500 yen, we will not proceed with the purchase.

  • Seller Interaction Limits:

    • We do not ask sellers to: hold items, sell reserved items ("senyou"), change listing details, combine shipping from multiple listings, or provide extra photos. We buy items exactly as listed.

    • We do not ask sellers about: items they sold previously, other items they might have, or if they plan to list specific items in the future.

5. Payment, Fees & Refunds

  • Upfront Payment: You need to pay the full estimated cost upfront. This includes the item price, our service fee, and the estimated domestic and international shipping costs.

  • Minimum Deposit: Each payment deposit must be at least 20,000 JPY. (For bank transfers in MYR, SGD, IDR, minimums are 200 MYR, 200 SGD, or 2,000,000 IDR respectively, if available).

  • Balance Adjustment & Refunds: After your items ship and all actual costs are known, we will calculate your final balance. Any remaining balance can be refunded to you or kept in your account for future orders upon request (usually after a shipment is complete or you have no pending items).

  • Re-Deposit Fee: If you request a refund and then need to deposit funds again within 30 days of that refund, a 2,000 yen handling fee will apply to the new deposit. If you plan to order again soon, consider keeping your balance with us.
